Apple Lord Derby is widely regarded as one of the finest cooking apple varieties, it requires little or no sugar when cooked.
The tree is particularly hardy, frost resistant and tolerant of poor wet soils. Apple Lord Derby is a very good cropper and if the fruit is thinned in June it produces very good sized, grass green apples
