We stock a full range of seed potatoes and Onion Sets in our garden centre from mid-January through to the beginning of April.
All our seed potatoes are certified disease free and are of the highest quality to ensure good crops for our customers.
This Season’s Varieties
All our seed potatoes are priced at £4.50 for 2kg bag.
Onions sets are priced at £2.90 for a pack of 50.
Shallot sets are £3.50 for 20 bulbs.
Garlic sets are £2.90 for 20 cloves.
Pink Fir Apple Seed Potatoes
A Salad Potato with a creamy, nutty flavour. An old fashioned late cropping variety dating back to 1850, perfect for boiling, chipping and as a salad potato.
For best results eat the potatoes when freshly dug.

Cara Seed Potatoes
Cara seed potatoes produce a crop of beautifully oval potatoes with pink-red eyes which are particularly good for baking and chipping.
Cara seed potatoes have good disease resistance and withstand drought well.

Charlotte Seed Potatoes
Charlotte is probably the most popular salad variety. Charlotte seed potatoes produce small pear shaped potatoes of first class flavour that can be eaten hot or cold.

Desiree Seed Potatoes
Desiree is one of the finest waxy potatoes available, a superb roaster (the roast potato of choice for Delia Smith). It also makes excellent boiled and mashed potatoes.
Desiree seed potatoes have excellent disease resitance and good resistance to slugs.

Kestrel Seed Potatoes
Kestrel seed potatoes produce a particularly good, general use potato. It has good disease resistance, excellent flavour and reliable, heavy crops. If you only have room for one variety then you should be buying Kestrel seed potatoes.

King Edward Seed Potatoes
King Edward is a floury potato and an excellent choice for a general purpose potato. It makes good mash and is an excellent baking or roasting potato.
King Edward seed potatoes are a traditional variety that have been in production for over a century.

Maris Bard Seed Potatoes
Maris Bard seed potatoes are widely regarded as one of the best of the early potatoes.
Maris Bard seed potatoes produces heavy crops of particularly uniform potatoes which are round, white and waxy. It makes a very good salad potato.

Maris Piper Seed Potatoes
Maris Piper Seed Potatoes produce a potato with a smooth white skin, cream flesh and an oval shape. Currently it is one of the most popular potatoes in the UK, for very good reason. Maris Piper is the potato of choice for roast potatoes and chips.
Maris Piper Seed Potatoes produce a reliable, heavy crop of good sized potatoes which will store very well.

Pentland Javelin Seed Potatoes
Pentland Javelin seed potatoes were bred by Jack Dunnett in 1968. Pentland Javelin has a firm cooking texture making it a particularly good choice for a boiling potato.
Pentland Javelin seed potatoes are a heavy cropping, early variety of white skinned potatoes with pure white flesh.

Rocket Seed Potatoes

Carolus Seed Potatoes
Carolus seed potatoes are named after the 16th century botanist Carolus Clusius. This new main crop variety has attractive parti-coloured skin with an excellent flavour. It has very high dry matter so is perfect for baking, mashing and roast potatoes.

Onion ‘Red Baron’
An excellent cropping red onion producing firm flattish round bulbs of beautiful dark red colour. This variety is mid-late maturing with an eye catching rimmed flesh and strong flavour. Perfect for salads with good storage potential.

Onion ‘Sturon’
A traditional variety favoured for its reliability. Sturon produces good larged sized round onions with a deep flavour, good keepers. An excellent main crop variety that does well in poor summers.

Shallot ‘Golden Gourmet’
A Dutch variety that can be harvested as early as July. Golden Gourmet can be sown in Mid- February to produce a heavy crop of golden brown skinned shallot that will keep well for several months.

A popular variety due to its attractive red tinged skin. Red Sun produces a crisp white fleshed bulb perfect for cooking, salads or pickling. Sow in Spring for a good yield that will store well.

Garlic ‘Vigour’
A good variety for this locality, large white bulbs that store well, a noted deep flavour. Plant cloves 6ins apart in well drained soil January to April. Also grow well in containers.
