Quercus petrea, Sessile Oak is a very long lived, native tree which is why Oak is a symbol for strength and endurance, it is often mistaken for English Oak in the wild.

Quercus petrea has a slightly more upright habit than English Oak and the Acorns do not have stems otherwise they are nearly identical. We find that Quercus petrea is more tolerant of variable ground conditions than English Oak and usually establishes more successfully.
