Apiary at the Farm
One of the major benefits of Barbara keeping bees is that they pollinate everything around them.
The apiary is situated adjacent to the orchard and soft fruit garden.
The busyness of Barbara’s bees has resulted in a bumper crop of fruit. This week we are having to thin out the fruitlets or the sheer weight will break the branches.
The soft fruit is in such abundance that Barbara is running out of ideas what to do with it. She has already made 2 lots of gooseberry and elderflower jam, gooseberry compote,gooseberry crumbles are in the freezer and the main crop isn’t even ready yet.
