We are pleased to invite you to our annual Apple Day here at Beardsworths Nurseries on the 12th October starting from 10am.
This year we have a special talk from Fruit Works Co-operative at 10am – PLEASE ARRIVE IN GOOD TIME. Alan will be covering the life cycle of a fruit tree – giving advice about how best to propagate, plant, prune, and pamper your fruit trees to give them the best chance at a healthy and productive life with a Q&A to follow.
On display will be a selection of our apples grown from our orchard in Scholes just 1 mile away from our nursery with varieties like Red Love, Katy and Pitmaston Pineapple. Our apples are there for you to try as well as purchase direct from us and take home that day. There will be a special offer of 25% off all our apple trees for one day only.
Our expert fruit tree grafter Phil will be providing a short demonstration on why and how we graft our fruit trees and there will be a selection of Mrs B’s homemade jams, chutneys and some of our local honey to purchase.
Udders Orchard Cider will be cider pressing as well as selling some of their delicious cider on the day all harvested and pressed here in lovely West Yorkshire. And a special appearance from the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust to talk to us about the importance of their wonderful charity.
Everyone is welcome to attend the event throughout the day, however if you are interested in attending the talk from Fruit Works please register below by reserving a free ticket.
